The Cozad Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting for Shabby Chic owned by Cheryl Oelkers and Pick’s Bakery owned by Crystal Petzoldt on October 20.  Both stores are located at 725 Meridian Ave.

Wandering through Shabby Chic definitely reflects the beautiful things Cheryl is drawn to. Immaculately clean furniture that looks new, with tables and dressers decorated with beautiful and unusual decor are arranged with perfection throughout her section of the store. Shabby Chic carries affordable furniture, glassware and jewelry that she has collected over time or has purchased from other people that is unique and pretty.
“I choose things that I would love for my home.” shared Cheryl. “Our goal is to be affordable so people can have pretty things.”
“Crystal and I want to meet the needs of the people. If we know someone collects something, we will watch for it.” shared Cheryl.
Cheryl finds some of her merchandise in Cozad but also travels to Omaha, Lincoln, and as far as Colorado Springs to find items for her store. She also travels to estate sales.

Cheryl at Shabby Chic can be contacted at 308-325-1766.
