Shabby ChicThe Cozad Chamber of Commerce welcomes Shabby Chic to the Cozad Chamber of Commerce which is located in The Mall (724 Meridian Ave.) in downtown Cozad.Shabby Chic

The Mall consigns several small businesses within the store. Two of those businesses are Shabby Chic owned by Cheryl Oelkers and Pick’s Bakery owned by Crystal Petzoldt.

“I have always liked pretty things like teapots and crystal, things that make you smile.” shared Cheryl.

Wandering through Shabby Chic definitely reflects the beautiful things Cheryl is drawn to. Immaculately clean furniture that looks new, with tables and dressers decorated with beautiful and unusual decor are arranged with perfection throughout her section of the store. Shabby Chic carries affordable furniture, glassware and jewelry that she has collected over time or has purchased from other people that is different or pretty.

“I choose things that I would love for my home.” shared Cheryl. “Our goal is to be affordable so people can have pretty things.”

Shabby Chic“Crystal and I want to meet the needs of the people. If we know someone collects something, we will watch for it.” shared Cheryl.Shabby Chic

Cheryl finds some of her merchandise in Cozad but also travels to Omaha, Lincoln, and as far as Colorado Springs to find items for her store. She also travels to estate sales.

“Crystal and I want our business to be a ministry and to be a blessing to people. We pray and minister to people who come through our doors. It’s not about money. It’s about what the Lord wants us to do.” shared Cheryl.
